Training in Chamba on ‘Life Skills under Mindfulness’ Curriculum with Samagra Shiksha Himachal Pradesh

Chamba, 8 April 2026: Bharti Airtel Foundation, in partnership with Samagra Shiksha Himachal Pradesh, conducted a two-day training of resource persons on April 7 and 8, 2026, at Bachat Bhawan, Chamba, marking a key step in the first phase of rollout of the ‘Life Skills under Mindfulness’ curriculum.

The training brought together selected resource persons from Chamba, who will further cascade the program across their district with need-based support from Bharti Airtel Foundation for classes 6 to 12.

 

The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Mr. Manmohan Singh (HPAS), Assistant Commissioner, Chamba; Mr. Vikas Mahajan, Deputy Director Higher Education, Chamba; and Mr. Umakant Anand, Officer on Special Duty, DDSE (Elementary), Chamba.

Representing Bharti Airtel Foundation, Mr. Parveen Kumar Chaudhary, Regional Head, and Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Project Coordinator, were present during the training sessions.

 

Under the Strengthening Teaching, Learning and Results for States (STARS) project, Samagra Shiksha Himachal Pradesh signed an MoU with Bharti Airtel Foundation in August 2023 to implement this curriculum. The program focuses on equipping students with essential life skills such as emotional awareness, critical thinking, empathy, and resilience, enabling their holistic development. Under the technical guidance of SCERT Himachal Pradesh, the curriculum was finalised and formally launched by Mr. Rohit Thakur, Hon’ble Education Minister, Himachal Pradesh, on 24 May 2025.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Manmohan Singh (HPAS), Assistant Commissioner, Chamba, said,

“Life skills education plays a crucial role in shaping well-rounded individuals. Initiatives like the ‘Life Skills under Mindfulness’ program will support students in developing resilience, empathy, and clarity of thought, while also strengthening classroom practices through empowered teachers.”

 

Mr. Parveen Chaudhary, Regional Head, Bharti Airtel Foundation said “Through the ‘Life Skills under Mindfulness’ program, we aim to integrate essential life skills into everyday teaching-learning processes. By empowering educators with the right tools and approaches, the initiative seeks to nurture emotionally aware, confident, and responsible learners across classrooms.”
