Teachers Continuous Professional Development Program Launched in Dehradun Through TheTeacherApp

Dehradun, July 24, 2026: The Department of School Education, Government of Uttarakhand, and the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Uttarakhand, in association with the Bharti Airtel Foundation, launched the Continuous Professional Development Program for Teachers through TheTeacherApp at the SCERT Auditorium, Dehradun.


The event brought together over 80 educators from across Uttarakhand and focused on strengthening teachers' professional learning through technology-enabled resources, innovative pedagogical practices, and continuous capacity building.


The event was held in the esteemed presence of Ms. Bandana Garbyal, Director, SCERT, Uttarakhand, Shri Padmendra Saklani, Additional Director, SCERT; Dr KN Bijalwan, Asst. Director, SCERT, Uttarakhand and Dr. Mehraj Alam, Principal, DIET, Haridwar, Uttarakhand, along with senior officials from the School Education Department and other distinguished guests. Lt. Col. Jitendra Verma, OSD, NITI Aayog, joined virtually. Representatives of the Bharti Airtel Foundation present on the occasion included Mr. Amit Taneja, Head of Technology; Ms. Veena Tyagi, DGM, Partnerships and Implementation; and Mr. Hammad Siddiqui, Manager – Partnerships and Implementation.


Through TheTeacherApp, Bharti Airtel Foundation’s a free-for-life platform offering high-quality content and AI-enabled tools for teacher training and professional development, teachers can access self-paced professional development courses, expert-led webinars, AI-powered tools for lesson planning and assessment, classroom resource repositories, question banks, misconception documents, and opportunities to engage with a wider professional learning community.
